Description
The Centre for Applied Behavioural Sciences (CABS) undertakes applied research projects and offers consultancy and training in the domain of behavioural sciences. CABS also serves as a platform for lecturers and students from the School of Humanities & Social Sciences (HSS) to work closely with industry partners through applied behavioural science research and projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct applied research and consultancy projects in the domain of behavioural sciences to drive innovation across different domains. Candidate needs to engage with industry partners to craft out project scope and specifications, and manage multiple stakeholders and project partners while implementing the applied research or consultancy projects.
- Develop frameworks, processes, or toolkits in the domain of behavioural sciences that can be used to facilitate consultancy projects, applied research, and training and development.
- Be involved in inter-disciplinary teams on projects and initiatives, and to collaborate and communicate with professionals from other diverse disciplines or background.
- Be attuned to the latest developments in the scientific literature of behavioural sciences, particularly in its interdisciplinary applications across different domains.
- Design, develop and deliver customised training and workshops in the domain of behavioural sciences for internal or external stakeholders.
- Take on additional organizational duties as necessary (e.g., networking with industry partners, business development, grant applications, committee work, etc).
Requirements
- Any relevant tertiary qualification(s) with a focus on behavioural sciences, such as behavioural economics, behavioural geography, anthropology, human factors, cognitive science, and cognitive, social or industrial & organization psychology.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience related to the applications of behavioural sciences.
- Competencies in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analyses in behavioural sciences, and in applying behavioural science knowledge in applied research, consultancy, and interdisciplinary projects.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, and effective communication and presentation skills to enable collaboration and engagement for applied research and consultancy projects. Candidate must be able to work in diverse and interdisciplinary teams, and able to manage differing perspectives.
- Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, adaptability, and a willingness to invest in continuous learning and professional development.
- Adopt scientific and empirical perspectives in carrying out the required work (i.e., applied research, projects and consultancy, curriculum development and delivery), and in interaction with colleagues, industry partners and students.
